Project Goal

 To contribute to improved agricultural productivity and production through market-oriented agricultural development, as a means for achieving improved and sustainable livelihoods for the rural population.

 Project Purpose

 To strengthen the effectiveness of the Government’s effort to transform agricultural productivity and production, and rural development in Ethiopia . 

 

 

 

       

 

 Objectives: to develop, strengthen and test * 

Outcome 

1.      

     

 

Agricultural knowledge management system highlighting innovations and appropriate technologies. 

Functional agricultural knowledge management system operationalized at Woreda & Federal levels, highlighting innovations and appropriate technologies. 

2.     

     

 

 

 

 

Innovation capacity of farmers, pastoralists, and public & private agricultural sector organizations that respond to challenges and opportunities in the agriculture sector. 

Strengthened innovation capacity of farmers, pastoralists, community-based and private sector organizations, and agriculture and natural resource management public organizations to support the development of small-holder, market-oriented agricultural production systems. 

3.  

Promotion and adoption of appropriate technologies, innovative input supply and, output marketing services, and financial services. 

Appropriate technologies, innovative input supply – output marketing, and financial services adopted in order to improve agricultural productivity and market success in the PLWs. 

4.  

         

 

Strategies, policy & technology options, and institutional innovations distilled from research and lessons-learned during project implementation. 

Strategies, policy & technology options, and institutional innovations developed (from both research and lessons learned), documented and promoted in order to enhance market-oriented agricultural development.  

* The project conducts all its activities in a gender-balanced and environment friendly manner and aims at mitigating the risk of HIV/AIDS
